That’s right. Sellwood, a Portland neighborhood, had the United States’ first electric interurban railway (Oregon Water Power & Railway Company) way back in 1893. All this green living* stuff just comes natural out here!

* It’s important to note: electricity comes from burning coal and splitting atoms; it is not green. Only now are we finally building the infrastructure for renewable energy — windmills and the likes. That fancy electric train was just quieter than the other transit options.
